Set up a new tool

To define the tools used in your production of manufacturing orders, do as follows:

  1. Select the Work with tools/fixtures menu item.
  2. You access Work with tools and fixtures. Click Add.
  3. You access Tools and fixtures maintenance. Complete the following fields:
    4. Tool
    Enter the identity of the tool.
    Description
    Enter a description of the tool.
    Number of tools
    Enter the number of tools being defined with the same tool identity.
    Allocate tool
    Indicate if the Tool allocation file should be updated for this tool. If you set this field to YES, you will be able to browse the allocation of this tool in the future by selecting Enquiry allocation on the first Work with tools and fixtures panel. You will be able to see to what product, operation and/or manufacturing order this tool was assigned.
    Calibrate
    Indicate if the tool should be handled within the calibration function. For more information about the calibration handling, see Set up calibration rules for a tool.

    Click OK. Exit the routine.
