This window is used to set certain defaults and parameters for each user. Depending on from where you access this window, different fields are available. Click on the links below to see the fields that are available for each panel:
Work with items/Item file maintenance, Basic data
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with items or Item file maintenance, Basic data panels:
- Item classific entry
- Indicate if the Apply item classification definition panel should be displayed as the first panel in the Item maintenance program before the Basic data panel when you are adding items. Item classification has a higher priority than item segmentation. When both are activated, item classification will always be displayed first as item segmentation can be used from item classification entry (if applicable) to build the item code. If item classification is not enabled here then Item segmentation is displayed as second alternative.
- Item segment entry
- Indicate if the Build item code from segments panel should be displayed automatically in the Item maintenance program before the Basic data panel when you are adding items. If the view control for Item classification entry is also enabled, the Apply item classification definition panel will be displayed before the Build item code from segments panel.
Generate new item
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Generate new item panel:
- Item segment entry
- Indicate if the Build item code from segments panel should be displayed automatically in the Item maintenance program before the Basic data panel when you are adding items.
Time axis enquiry
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Time axis enquiry:
- Time axis view
- Enter a code indicating what time axis view should be defaulted.

Work with sales orders, Header view
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with sales orders, Header view panel:
- Text lines in maint
- First panel order
- Indicate which panel should be shown first when a new (normal) sales order is added.

- Indicate which panel should be shown first when a new credit order is added.

Work with sales orders, Order lines
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with sales orders, Order lines panel:
- Lines in asc seq
- Indicate if you wish to view order lines in ascending or descending order. The field is set to Y (i.e. ascending) by default.
- Text lines in maint
- Retain disc & FOC
- Indicate if the entered discount and FOC values should be retained as default values for the next line that is to be added.
Work with sales orders, Item matrix
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with sales orders, Item matrix panel:
- Order matrix view
- Indicate which view should be the default when you access the Item matrix panel.
Value Description 1 Order heading view. This view will display the order information in the top section of the panel. 2 Item heading view. This view will display the item information in the top section of the panel.
Work with sales order, Structures
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with sales order, Structures panel:
Sales/Service order enquiry
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Sales/Service order enquiry panel:
- Text lines in enq
- Free text, reference
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Customer Ref selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed. Caution: If you choose to search by free text (you set the field to YES), the search performance will be reduced.
- Free text, your ord
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Your ord selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed.
- Free text, supp ord
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Supp order selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed. Caution: If you choose to search by free text (you set the field to YES), the search performance will be reduced.
- Free text, ship mrk
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Shipment marking selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed.
- First panel
- Indicate which panel should be shown first when the sales order enquiry is accessed.

Smart sales order/quotation entry
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Smart sales order/quotation entry panel:
Sales quotation enquiry
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Sales quotation enquiry, Quotation lines panel:
Work with sales quotation
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with sales quotation panel:
- Quotation in asc seq
- Indicate if you want to display the sales quotations in ascending or descending order sequence.
Sales quotation maintenance, Quotation line entry/Structures
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Sales quotation maintenance, Quotation line entry and Sales quotation maintenance, Structures panels:
Work with pickings
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with pickings panel in any of the four views (Picking view, Shipment view, Consolidation view, Container view. Note: The Container view is only available if the CONTAINR (Container handling) function is activated in the Function control file.):
- Confirmed pickings
- Indicate the default value for the Confirmed selection field. If you set this field to YES, only confirmed pickings will be displayed in any of the four views. If you leave the default setting of NO, only non-confirmed pickings will be displayed. A person that is working with picking of goods is most likely interested in seeing pickings that are not confirmed, whereas a person that is working with pack reporting or shipments is most likely interested in seeing confirmed pickings.
- Start view
- Enter the panel value code denoting what view (i.e. Pickings, Shipments, Consolidations or Containers) should be the default view when you first access the Work with pickings routine. Note: The Container view is only available if the CONTAINR (Container handling) function is activated in the Function control file.
Work with purchase orders
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with purchase orders panel:
- Text lines in maint
- First panel order
- Indicate which panel should be shown first when a new purchase order is added.
Code Description FE Fast entry LE (normal) Line entry Note: If an Assortment group and ID exists for the supplier on the order in the Business partner file, the Assortment panel will be displayed first, regardless of this View control flag.
- First panel return
- Indicate which panel should be shown first when a new return order is added.

Work with purchase orders, Item matrix
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with purchase orders, Item matrix panel:
- Order matrix view
- Indicate which view should be the default when you access the Item matrix panel.

Purchase order enquiry
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Purchase order enquiry panel:
- Text lines in enq
- Free text, reference
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Reference selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed. Caution: If you choose to search by free text (YES is entered), the search performance will be reduced.
- Free text, ord ref
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Order ref selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed.
- Free text, ship mrk
- Indicate if you want to use free text search for the Shipment marking selection field. If you set this field to NO, only exact matches will be displayed.
Service order enquiry, Service order job
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Service order enquiry, Service order job panel:
- Text lines in enq
Work with requests and returns, Lines
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with requests and returns, Lines panel:
- Action view
- Indicate if all actions associated to the request or return (BPR) should be displayed underneath the BPR line. If you set this field to NO, only the BPR line will be displayed.
Reception note confirmation
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Reception note confirmation:
- Line sequence
- Enter a code indicating in what sequence the reception lines should be presented. Note: The last saved sequence will be the default for the panel until you change it.

- Supplier item view
- Indicate if the supplier item information should be displayed instead of the DC1 item information. Note: The last saved view will be the default for the panel until you change it.
Work with route list/Work with outbound shipments
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Work with route list and Work with outbound shipments panels:
- Show view 1-4
- Indicate what view mode you want to activate. By selecting a view mode you can toggle between viewing different fields. At least one view mode must be set to YES.
Invoice enquiry
The following fields are displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Invoice enquiry:
Warehouse balance enquiry
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Warehouse balance enquiry.
- Warehouse view
- Define the default view denoting what kinds of warehouses will be displayed, choosing from the following:
Code Description 1 All warehouses 2 Only normal/logical warehouses 3 Only normal/physical warehouses
Warehouse location transaction enquiry
The following field is displayed when you access the View controls panel from the Warehouse location transaction enquiry:
- Loc trans in asc seq
- Indicate if you want to display the transactions based on dates in ascending or descending sequence. If you set this flag to YES they will be displayed in ascending sequence. If you set this flag to NO they will be displayed in descending sequence.
