Work with MSDS definition, MSDS table fields (DIR71701)

This panel displays all table fields defined for the selected MSDS sub-section. You can add, change or delete table fields from this panel. Note: It is not necessary to define table fields for a sub-section. If only text should be printed for the sub-section, no table fields has to be defined.

Note: It is not possible to delete a record that is being used by another MSDS record.

Selection fields

MSDS Section
Displays the MSDS section, that was selected in the previous panel.
Section heading
Displays the MSDS Section heading, that was selected in the previous panel.
MSDS Sub-section
Displays the MSDS Sub-section, that was selected in the previous panel.
Sub-section heading
Displays the MSDS Sub-section Heading, that was selected in the previous panel.

Work with MSDS definition, MSDS table field maintenance (DIR71704)

On this panel you define detailed information about the table field.

Function keys

MSDS Section
Displays the MSDS section, that was selected in the previous panel.
Section heading
Displays the MSDS Section heading, that was selected in the previous panel.
MSDS Sub-section
Displays the MSDS Sub-section, that was selected in the previous panel.
Sub-section heading
Displays the MSDS Sub-section heading, that was selected in the previous panel.

Sequence
Enter a unique sequence number of the table field in this sub-section. The sequence number controls the order in which the table fields will be printed on the MSDS, TREM cards, labels and freight documents.
Lead text
Enter the lead text of the table field. The lead text is printed on the MSDS and the TREM card.
Mandatory
Indicate if this table field is mandatory when maintaining the MSDS in the Work with material safety data sheets program.
Search field
Indicate if a search value should be created for this field. If this field is set to YES, a search value corresponding to the data entered in this field (in the Work with material safety data sheets program) will be created. The search value can be used in the MSDS enquiry program to find all MSDS which contains the value.
Optional
Indicate if this table field is optional when maintaining the MSDS in the Work with material safety data sheets program.
Warning
Indicate if a warning message should be sent the user maintaining the MSDS in the Work with material safety data sheets program, if this field is left blank. In the Work with material safety data sheets program, warning messages can be ignored by clicking OK again.
Table
Enter a code from the Environment meta table indicating that only values from this meta table is valid for this field when maintaining the MSDS in the Work with material safety data sheets program.

For example:

If you enter 001 in this field (the Environment meta table Danger code), when working with this table field in the Work with Material Safety Data Sheets program, you have to enter a valid meta table value from the environment meta table Danger code.

If you leave this field blank, when working with this table field in the Work with material safety data sheets program, you can enter any value in the field.

Print field
In the four fields below this column heading, you define whether this table field should be printed on the four different documents or not.
MSDS
Indicate if this table field should be printed on the MSDS.
TREM
Indicate if this table field should be printed on the TREM card.
Label
Indicate if this table field should be printed on a labels.
Freight document
Indicate if this table field should be printed on the summarised printout of the MSDS document. This summarised MSDS document can be printed automatically when freight documents are printed.
Print code
The four fields below this column heading only applies if the Table field on this panel is completed. Indicate if the code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed.

For example:

001 (the Environment meta table Danger code) is defined in the Table field on this panel. The Danger code table contains, e.g., the following codes:

Code Description
FG Flammable
CO Corrosive

If this field is set to YES, the codes, i.e. “FG” and “CO” are printed.

MSDS
Indicate if the code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed on the MSDS.
TREM
Indicate if the code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed on the TREM card.
Label
Indicate if the code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed on labels.
Freight document
Indicate if the code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed on summarised printout of the MSDS document. This summarised MSDS document can be printed automatically when freight documents are printed.

The four fields below this column heading only applies if the Table field on this panel is completed. Indicate if the description of the meta table code (defined in the meta table entered in the Table field) should be printed.

For example:

001 (the Environment meta table Danger code) is defined in the Table field on this panel. The Danger code table contains, e.g., the following codes:

MSDS

Work with MSDS definition, Deletion (DIR71705)

Note: It is not possible to delete a table field if this table field is included in an MSDS for which field data exists in the MSDS file.
