This panel displays, in alphanumerical order, the existing customers and/or suppliers from the Business partner file.
Searching for a customer and/or supplier
You have several alternatives to find the customer and/or supplier, choosing from the following:
- Entering different search concepts, will display a selection of customers and/or suppliers. Selection on Number, Name or Telephone can only be made for one parameter at a time.
- In the six Search fields you can enter search words to find a customer or a supplier. For each customer and supplier, one or several search words can exist. The search words are created in the BP search field controls table or via the Rebuild business partner search fields routine.
- Accessing Attribute search mode by clicking the window prompt icon to the right of the Number field and then clicking the Attribute search function key.
If this program was accessed from a program in DC1 Distribution, you can transfer a customer/supplier number to the routine in DC1 Distribution where you were working when you opened this program. Do this by entering the code for TRANSFER next to the number and clicking OK.
If you want more information about a customer/supplier, enter any character next to the customer/supplier and click OK. Which panel will be the first one displayed is defined for the enquiry template you have selected, or the template that is defined for your user profile.

| Select template | Select a Business partner file template. The template decides which information in the Business partner file that is displayed and in which sequence the panels are displayed. |
| Telephone First only/ Telephone All |
Toggle between displaying the first telephone number of the customer/supplier and all telephone numbers. The telephone numbers are retrieved from the contact information in the business partner’s phone file.
Note: This function key is not valid if any of the Search fields has been completed. |
Selection fields
- Type
- By entering a type in this field, you can limit the search for number, name or telephone number to cover only one of the following groups:
Type Description 1 customer only 2 supplier only 3 both customer and supplier 9 competitor, manufacturer or prospect Type 3 are those that are defined as both customers and suppliers to your company, it does not mean all customers and suppliers. If the field is left blank, no selection on type will be made.
- Active
- This field is set to YES by default, which means that the active customers are displayed. To display inactive customers, set this field to NO and press Enter.
- Search fields
- In the six search fields you can enter search words to find a customer/supplier. For each customer/supplier, search words can have been defined in the BP search field controls table. Search words can also be created via the Rebuild business partner search fields routine. When a new customer/supplier is created, the BP search field controls table determines if search word(s) shall be created automatically.
Enter the entire or part of the search word in one, or several, search fields to get a listing with all customers and suppliers with, for example, the same Salesman and Country. This field can be combined with entering a type in the Type field. When the listing is displayed, you enter any character next to the customer or supplier for which you want more information.
Business partner file enquiry, Select enquiry template (GDMD2013)
This panel displays the enquiry template that you can use when searching for information in the Business partner file. The template you choose decides which panels will be displayed and in which order they will appear.
