Work with client types (GDMD05104)
On this panel you enter the basic properties of the client type you are creating. For existing client types you are able to modify the preloaded information.
- Client type
- Description
- Update phone file
- Indicate if the system should automatically update a business partner contact’s communication details for this client type, (the Phone numbers panel in the Business partner file), if they are changed. Communication details are maintained via the Work with contacts, Assign client routine.
- Valid for A/R notes
- Indicate if this client type should be allowed to be used as communication media for contacts with the customer regarding A/R notes. A/R notes are added to a customer’s account and could be, e.g., verbal agreements that you have made with the customer. NO is defaulted. You access the A/R maintenance routine via the A/R notes option on the detail level of Work with A/R – A/P analysis reports.
- Parameters used
- Indicate if the system requires parameters in order to send the created message or the information. For example, to send a message to an e-mail address, a parameter value would be needed to verify that the user has been activated for this client type, and that a valid e-mail address is entered. (The parameter values are defined per user/contact and client type in the DC1 user profile maintenance or the Work with contacts programs, Assign client routine.)
- Used by AMT
- Indicate if this client type may also be used by DC1 Alert Management for sending and receiving alert messages.
- Type
- Only displayed if DC1 Alert Management is installed and activated. Enter a value to determine the type of client.
Value Description Type 1 Refers to internal clients such as the DC1 UI Client or the Analyser client. Type 2 Refers to external clients such as e-mail, fax or GSM (SMS). For this type, an interface program is required. See Interface program below.
- Interface program
- Only displayed if DC1 Alert Management is installed and activated. Messages that are created for external client types (type 2) require an interface program to create and compose the information contained in these. The program used for this purpose is defined in this field. Type 1 refers to internal clients such as the DC1 UI Client or the Analyser client.
DC1 has three of these interface programs loaded as standard and which comply with the rule that each must hold the same *ENTRY parameter list, as these must be called from the AMT engine. These are:
- EDSR920 Interface program for the DC1 UI Client.
- EDSR921 Interface program for MAIL.
- EDSR922 Interface program for SMS.
- Immediate send
- Only displayed if DC1 Alert Management is installed and activated. Indicate if you want the messages that are created to be sent immediately.
- Action validity
- Only displayed if DC1 Alert Management is installed and activated. Enter a value to indicate to the system what type of action/routine this client is valid for.
