Simulation mode is available (by clicking the Preview function key) where you can test the layout definition and check what the end result would be when the layout definition is applied during item creation.

When your layout definition is complete you can test the layout definition in simulation mode (by clicking the Preview function key) and view the end result after entering the actual values for the selected definition elements. See Layout definition example for an example of how you can construct a layout definition and how the system interprets each definition element, ultimately turning it into something readable.
Layout definition has changed (DMR16105)
This window is only displayed if you change a layout definition currently used by one or more items grouped within the applicable grouping structure. This change could be brought about by any of the following:
- changing an existing definition
- defining a layout definition that you want to apply on existing items. For example, you may decide that one type of layout code is not needed. So you create your items and then decide later on to start using that layout code. When you add the new layout definition, this window will prompt to allow you to sychronize all existing items.
Answer YES or NO.
