The scheduling function is a quick way to enter order lines. Instead of entering the lines one by one, you can enter up to 999 at the same time.

Many distributors sell their items on a scheduled dispatch basis, and many distributors have to deal with scheduling orders around stock outages. Sales order line scheduling provides a user interface that makes scheduling orders easy and accurate.

Sales order line scheduling is done through the Work with sales orders routine. Cycled dispatch dates can be computed automatically, and back order decisions can be implemented pro-actively, with availability information.

Various features available with this function include:

Feature Description
Daily, Weekly, Monthly dispatch scheduling Scheduled dispatches can be computed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Enter the starting dispatch date, total dispatch quantity, number of dispatches, and optionally, the quantity per shipment – and the system computes dispatch times based on your companies working and non-working days. Once a dispatch schedule is computed, it is displayed on the panel for maintenance.
Back order management In conjunction with the Time axis feature, the system determines item availability as you enter the lines. By simply changing the Schedule type you can choose to:

  • Back order the requested item: Generates one order line for any available item, and generates one order line for the remaining quantity with the first available date
  • Delay the requested item: Generates an order line with the first available date for the requested quantity
  • No back order for the requested item: Generates one order line for the current available quantity only
Schedule new or existing order lines You can generate new sales order lines or reschedule existing order lines that are at the appropriate status (less than 30). Rescheduling can be done for a single order line or all order lines with a specified item code.
Total quantity pricing When generating order lines, you can specify that quantity dependable pricing is to be based on the total quantity scheduled.

    • the actual stock on hand for the item and warehouse used on the order
    • the available item quantity
    • the dispatch date, item quantity and available quantity, per order (for those both inside and outside the planning time).
