Selection fields
- Attr code
- The code that identifies the attribute. Note: A numeric attribute field may be referred to in a formula. In this case the attribute code must contain 2 characters.
- Description
- The description of the attribute.
- Type
- The attribute type indicates if the attribute code is used for alphanumeric or numeric fields. Valid codes are: A (Alphanumeric) and N (Numeric).
Type of attribute Description Alphanumeric Alphanumeric attributes are used, for example, when the values represent types of material. Several options of how to add values to the attribute exist. You can: - Add alphanumeric values to the attribute and a value text describing the value:
Value = BL and Value text = BLUE - Add numeric values to the attribute and a value text describing the value:
Value = 13 and Value text = BLUE
Numeric Numeric attributes are used when the values represent types of material and/or something that can be measured, such as weight or length. Numeric attributes may be used as variables in configurator formulas to calculate quantity, etc. Several options of how to add values to the attribute exist. You can: - Define a number of valid values. The 1 meter, 3 meters, 5 meters and 7 meters values are valid. During the configuration process, one of these values must be selected.
- Define a minimum and maximum value, indicating what values are valid. All values between 1 meter and 100 meters are valid. During the configuration process, any of the valid values can be selected.
- Define a minimum value, a maximum value and an increment value. The increment value is used to facilitate the manual typing when there are many valid values:
Enter 10 as minimum value, 50 as maximum value and 10 as increment value. During the configuration process, values 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 are valid for selection.
