On this panel, you attach contact(s) to the associated role. Connecting a contact to a specific role determines those instances where this contact will be used for particular dealings with the business partner. See Attach an external contact to a business partner role for more information.
From this panel you can also access Work with contacts to add/maintain your contacts by clicking the applicable option.
Options
Add | Select this option to add a contact. |
Change | Select this option to change a contact. |
Copy | Select this option to copy a contact. |
Delete | Select this option to delete a contact. Note: A contact cannot be deleted if it is linked to any business partner. |
Display | Select this option to view the contact details. |
Clients | Select this option to assign client types to the contact. |
Text | Select this option to enter or edit information about the contact. Existing information is only available via this option. |
Where used | Select this option to view which business partner this contact is connected to. |
Activate | Select this option for the contact that you want to connect to this role. |
Set default | Select this option for the contact that you want to have set as the default for this role. Only one contact may be set as the default for each role. The default is automatically retrieved to and displayed on the previous panel as the main contact for the business partner in matters that relate to this specific role. Communication details for the default contact is also automatically retrieved to the business partner’s phone file. |
Inactivate | Select this option to disconnect the contact from the role. |
Selection fields
- Business partner
- Displays the name and number of the business partner you are currently working with.
- Role
- Displays the name and description of the associated role.
- Contact ID
- This column lists the IDs of the contacts that have already been configured and activated for this business partner and role. If no active contact exists, then all external contacts established in your system are displayed.
- Name
- This column lists the names of the contacts that have already been configured and activated for this business partner. If no active contacts exists, then the names of all external contacts established in your system are displayed.
- Active
- If this column is set to YES, it denotes that the associated contact has been connected to this role.
- Default
- If this column is set to YES, it denotes that the associated contact has been connected as the default contact for this role. Only one contact may be set as the default for each role. The default is automatically retrieved to and displayed on the associated panel in the Business partner file as the main contact for the business partner in matters that relate to this specific role. Communication details for the default contact is automatically retrieved to the business partner’s phone file.
- E-mail address
- This column displays the e-mail address of the contact, if client type MAIL is activated for the contact in the Work with contacts, Assign client panel and an e-mail address has been defined.
- Phone number
- This column displays the phone number of the contact if defined in Work with contacts.
