This panel lists the business partner’s contacts and the contact details (e.g., e-mail, cell phone, fax, telephone) through which you can reach the office of your business partner. The different mediums of communication are referred to as client types.
Contacts can be added/maintained from this location. Contact information that is retrieved to this panel through the Attach contact to role function in the Business partner file maintenance routine can only be maintained via the Work with contacts, Assign client routine. See About working with external contacts for more information.
Options
Change | Select this option to change a record. Note: Only records that are not created in the Work with contacts, Assign client routine can be changed here. |
Inactivate | Select this option to inactivate the record, thereby disconnecting the contact from the business partner. |
Set default | Select this option to set the default way of communicating with this business partner. Only one record may be set as the default per business partner. |
Unset default | Select this option to de-activate a record as the default for this business partner. |
Function keys
Activate contact | Access the Work with contacts, Select contact for *BPCONTACT panel to be able to select an existing contact to be connected to the business partner. |
Selection fields
- Number
- Displays the business partner number and description
- Contact ID
- This column displays the contact ID.
- Name
- This column lists the names of all contacts that have been connected to this business partner’s role(s). Or, displays the location to which the client type has been directed.
- Default
- If this column is set to YES it denotes that the client type to which it corresponds has been set as the default way of contacting this business partner.
- Text
- This column denotes if text is connected for the contact.
- Phone number
- This column displays the phone number for the contact.
- E-mail address
- This column displays the email address for the contact.
- Cell phone number
- This column displays the cell phone number for the contact.
- Fax number
- This column displays the fax number for the contact.
- Role
- This column denotes for what type of role the contact is connected to the business partner.
- Role description
- This column displays the description of the role.

Note: Only those records which are not created in the Work with contacts, Assign client routine can be deleted here. Those records which are created in that routine can only be inactivated. To inactivate such a record, you must access the Work with contacts, Assign client routine. See About working with external contacts for more information.
