On this panel you define the package types that are used by your company for packaging and transporting goods to your customer.
To optimise the Shipment preparation process you must provide detailed information (such as weight and volume) for each package that is listed here. This will allow the system to calculate the amount of goods that can be transported per shipment.
In addition, ISO9002 related information, of inner and outer material, used for the protection of the goods, can also be defined.

Selection fields
- Package type
- This column lists the unique codes of available package types.
- Package type class
- Displays a value ranging between 1 and 9 used to classify the package type.
- Weight
- Displays the weight of the corresponding package type.
- Volume
- Displays the volume of the corresponding package type.
- Total volume
- Displays if the corresponding volume of this package type is the total volume.
- Inner material
- Displays the description of the inner material of the corresponding package type.
- Outer material
- Displays the description of the outer material of the corresponding package type.
- Height
- Displays the height of the corresponding package type.
- Length
- Displays the length of the corresponding package type.
- Width
- Displays the width of the corresponding package type.
- Total quantity
- Displays the total quantity of the package type for informational purposes, if entered.

On this panel you define new or maintain existing package types that are used by your company for packaging and transporting goods to your customer.
To optimise the Shipment preparation process you must provide detailed information (such as weight and volume) for each package that is listed in this table. This will allow the system to calculate the amount of goods that can be transported per shipment.
In addition, ISO9002 related information, of inner and outer material, used for the protection of the goods, can also be defined.
Function keys
- Package type
- Package type class
- Displays a value ranging between 1 and 9 that will be used to classify the package type. This will be used as the first digit in the package numbering code. Typically the value 3, which is an EAN numbering standard representing an “unclassified document type”, is used. This value is defaulted from the DIS control file. Note: This value can only be changed by the system administrator.
- Weight
- Enter the weight of the package. The weight should be defined in the unit of measure displayed to the right of the field. The unit of measure is defined in DIS control file.
- Volume
- Enter the volume of the package. The volume should be defined in the unit of measure displayed to the right of the field. The unit of measure is defined in DIS control file.
- Total volume
- Indicate how to calculate the volume when confirming pick lists. If this field is set to YES, the volume you entered in the Volume field above will be the total volume on the sales order line. If this field is set to NO, the volume you entered in the Volume field above will be added to the volume on the sales order line.
- Outer material
- Enter a description of the outer material of the package type. This is just information and is not printed on any documents.
- Inner material
- Enter a description of the inner material of the package type. This is just information and is not printed on any documents.
- Length
- Enter the length of the package type. This is for informational purposes only and is not printed on any documents.
- Width
- Enter the width of the package type. This is for informational purposes only and is not printed on any documents.
- Height
- Enter the height of the package type. This is for informational purposes only and is not printed on any documents.
Work with package types, Copy (DIR01905)
- Package type
- Displays the package types you selected to copy.
- New package type
- Enter the new package types that you are creating.
