To be able to send/receive alerts in DC1 the following must be set up:

Program To do
Work with DC1 user profiles For each receiving user, click Client and indicate how the user should receive the message (email, 5250 message, SMS, etc.).

The value (whether it be email address, message queue, etc.) must also be defined. Note: No value is needed for the 5250 client. Select the Change option for the applicable client type to define the information.

Work with event types Make sure the event is activated.

Activate the receiver(s) of the alert via the Receivers option. You can do this via a role or a user. Roles are configured in Work with roles. Several users can be attached to the role. Note: Users cannot be added to roles of type 2 or type 3.

The following role types exist:

Type Description
1 This is a user-defined type to which you can add users from Work with DC1 user profiles.
2 This type is preloaded and is used when only one user is required as the receiver. This may also be referred to as the DC1 role (DC1-role). The signature user for this role is automatically found using a fetch program from Work with DC1 user profiles and the DC1 database. Therefore, you are unable to manually add new users to this type.
3 This type is a Business partner related role (BP-role). The contact person for this role is found from Work with contacts using a fetch program. There are several preloaded roles of this type, but you may create more. Each of the preloaded roles represents panels in the Business partner file. You attach the contacts that are to be valid for the role via the Contacts option on the Work with business partners main panel. See About working with external contacts for more information.
Work with data queue routines Make sure the AMTRDR data queue routine is started.
In the programs where a “receiver of alert” can be defined Enter the applicable receivers. Note: This step is only applicable for the following event types:

  • BPRACTAPPR (BPR action with approval)
  • BPRACTINFO (BPR action without approval)
  • PURCHRESTR (Purchase restriction alert)
  • SALESRESTR (Sales restriction alert)
  • The manual related event types with naming conventions MANUALxxxx
  • Demand plan related event types with naming conventions DPxxxxxxxx

Exit the routine.
