Selection fields

Sourcing policy
Displays the Sourcing policy you are working with.
BtB sourcing rule
Indicates how the system should search for available stock within the warehouses included in the Sourcing policy. This field is used in conjunction with the Auto source parameter (the automatic search function).
Split on warehouse
A purchase from a customer may result in the creation of two sales order lines with dispatch from different warehouses.

If this field is set to YES it denotes that a sales order line may be split across two sales order lines. If this field is set to NO it denotes that the sales order line must be supplied from only one warehouse.

Note: The split will only be performed if the Automatic fulfilment parameter is set to YES (in either the Sales order type table or in the Sales order header). The value defined in Sales order header will have been defaulted from the Sales order type table. However, the value in the header is the preferred value. If changed then it will override the information defined in the table.

Supply from first
Normally the Sourcing policy routine attempts to find a warehouse which can supply the entire ordered quantity. This field, however, is used to indicate that the first warehouse listed in the Sourcing policy sequence will be selected whenever a Sourcing policy is retrieved by the system.

Note: The first warehouse will be retrieved even though the entire ordered quantity can be found in another warehouse listed further down in the warehouse sequence. The requirement, used by the system for selecting the warehouse, is that it must have some stock, not the entire ordered quantity, available for dispatch on the requested dispatch date.

If this field is set to YES it denotes that the first warehouse found in Sourcing policy sequence will be selected if it has any available stock (full or partial amount) ready to be dispatched on the requested dispatch date. If this field is set to NO it denotes that the Sourcing policy must continue to proceed normally, i.e. the sourcing routine must find a warehouse that can dispatch the entire ordered quantity.

Sequence
This column lists the sequence number for the warehouse in the sourcing policy which denotes the order in which they are read by the system. The system searches through all of the warehouses grouped under the Sourcing policy for item availability information. The warehouse with the lowest number will be the first location that the system checks for available stock. The warehouse with the highest number will be checked last.
Warehouse
This column lists the codes for the warehouses in the sourcing policy.
Name
This column lists the warehouse description.
MOT
This column displays the manner of transport used for sales order lines for this sourcing policy/warehouse, if any was defined. When a sales order line is created, the manner of transport for the line will be decided in the following priority order:

  1. Sales MOT from Item/Warehouse.
  2. Sourcing policy/warehouse MOT, but if the warehouse on the sourcing policy is defined with “Primary” in the Warehouse level field, it may be overridden from customer delivery address.
  3. Sales MOT from customer delivery address.
  4. MOT code from the sales order header.
Level
This column displays the sourcing policy warehouse level for the warehouse within the sourcing policy, is such is defined. If an MOT is defined for a warehouse that has the Warehouse level field set to “Primary”, the MOT may be overridden from the MOT on the customer delivery address (if such is defined).

Valid panel value codes are:

2 Secondary
3 Tertiary
Description
This column lists the description of the Manner of transport code.
Level description
This column lists the description for the panel value in the Level column.

The system searches through all of the warehouses grouped under the Sourcing policy for item availability information. Each warehouse in the Sourcing policy is assigned a sequence number which establishes the order in which they are read by the system.

Enter a unique number between 1 and 999. The warehouse with the lowest number (e.g. 1) will be the first location that the system checks for available stock. The warehouse with the highest number will be checked last.

Note: The warehouse with the lowest sequential number will be treated as the customer’s default warehouse. This could be, for example, the warehouse closest to the customer site.

Warehouse
Enter the code of the warehouse that you wish to add to the sourcing policy.
Manner of transport
This field is optional. Enter the manner of transport used for sales order lines for this sourcing policy/warehouse combination.

This field is optional. Enter the warehouse level for the warehouse within the sourcing policy. If an MOT is defined for a warehouse that has this field set to “Primary”, the MOT may be overridden from the MOT on the customer delivery address (if such is defined).
