This panel displays all cross reference types which are valid in the Business partner file. The information is retrieved from the Item cross reference type table.
Item cross references are used in several programs within DC1 instead of the actual item code defined in the Item file. For example, in the sales order entry routine you can enter a customer’s item code, instead of your company’s item code.
- Tp
- Displays an alias from the Item cross reference type table, indicating the type of cross reference.
Note: Only the types defined with YES in the Valid in Business partner file field in the Item cross reference type table will be displayed.
- Valid
- Indicates if you are allowed to define this type of cross reference for this customer/supplier/manufacturer.
Valid item cross reference types (DIR42504)
The purpose of this panel is to define which cross reference types that are valid for this particular name.
- Type
- Displays an alias from the Item cross reference type table, indicating the type of cross reference.
- Valid
- Indicate if item cross references with this type should be allowed to create for this name.
For example:
- If you want to be able to define the identity of a customer’s item codes, set this field to YES for the cross reference type Customer.
- If you want to be able to define the identity of a competitor’s item codes, set this field to YES for the cross reference type Competitor.
If this field is set to YES, then the following rules apply:
Cross reference type |
“Type” in Business partner file, Basic data must be: |
---|---|
Competitor | 9 |
Customer | 1 |
Manufacturer | 9 |
Prospect | 9 |
Vendor/Supplier | 2 |
When you are adding a new customer in this file, the CU type will automatically be defined as valid. When adding a new supplier, the VE type will automatically be defined as valid. When adding a name which is both a customer and a supplier, both the CU and VE types will be defined as valid.
Item cross references, e.g. the actual code for a competitor’s items, are defined in the Item cross reference file. The Item cross reference file can be accessed from both this file or from the Item file maintenance. The panel where the item cross references are defined is called Item cross reference maintenance.
