Note: This function is only valid for update proposals.
When you have created a depreciation proposal you need to update the proposal in order to update the Asset depreciation and transaction files with the depreciation. If any asset balance type is active, also balances in the Business Information Warehouse will be updated.
This function also enables you to transfer transactions to the G/L and to print update lists. See the Panel help for explanation on how to do this.
Note: You are not permitted to update a proposal with an error in the accounting or calculation rules. The type of error is shown on the Depreciation, proposal overview. In the Acct column, you can see if there is an error in the accounting rules, or if a balance movement will take place. The Rule column will tell you if there is an error in the calculation rules.
- Select the Work with depreciations menu item.
- You access the Depreciation – proposal overview. Note: If the word Warn is shown in the Acct column for a proposal, then you receive a message that an account movement will take place for one or more assets in the proposal when you update depreciation for the asset(s). Select the proposal you want to update.
- On the Depreciation – activity selection panel, select the Print/Update files activity and click OK. Note: The system only displays the Print/Update files activity when you are working with a valid update proposal.
- You access Depreciation – proposal update. Click OK to confirm update and exit the routine.
