Alphanumeric attributes are used, for example, when the values represent types of material. Several options of how to add values to the attribute exist. You can:
- Add alphanumeric values to the attribute and a value text describing the value. For example: Value = BL and Value text = BLUE
- Add numeric values to the attribute and a value text describing the value. For example: Value = 13 and Value text = BLUE
To add an alphanumeric attribute and values do as follows:
- Select the Work with configurator attributes menu item.
- On the initial panel, click Add to add a new attribute.
- You access Configurator attribute maintenance. Complete the following fields:
- Attribute
- Enter an alphanumeric code identifying the attribute and a description in the adjacent field. Note: The attribute code may be up to 5 characters long. It may not include the characters &, %, +, -, * or /, and it must not have embedded blanks.
- Prompt text
- Enter a text to be used as field prompt for the attribute on configuration panels.
- Attribute type
- Enter the code A, indicating that the attribute code will be used for alphanumeric fields.
- Item category 1 – 6
- Indicate if this attribute shall be used to follow up configurations in the sales statistics. Note: An attribute must only be assigned to one item category. Entries must exist in the specified item category table. The fields are protected if any value of the current attribute is already assigned to an item category.
- Value
- Enter values for this attribute. The values can either be alphanumeric or numeric.
- Value text
- Optional entry. Enter the value text to describe the alphanumeric attribute value. The value text will be printed on documents, etc., when alphanumeric codes are used as substitution variables in configurator texts.
- Item category
- Select the code of the specified item category (1 – 6) table to be assigned to this attribute value for sales statistics follow-up.
Click OK when you have completed all relevant fields. The values you have entered here are the selection values during the configuration process. Exit the routine.
