Only manually held order lines or lines with system-defined order held reason codes defined with Manual release set to YES may be manually released. See Work with order held reason codes for an overview of the system-defined reason codes.
This can be done in two ways.
- In the Work with sales orders program:
- On the Header view panel, the Hold order column denotes the level of the order hold. Orders that are only held on line level are denoted with the panel value for lines (L).
- Select the applicable order. Once you click Hold reasons, the panel subheading changes to Held reasons. The system displays all reason codes that have been entered on line level. The same reason code may have been entered for several lines. You have to release each applicable line individually per reason code. Select the reason code and click Release directly or Details. You access the Held details panel and from there you release each line using the Release option.
- In the Work with held sales orders program which is described in this task.
- Select the Work with held sales orders menu item.
- Select the order containing held sales order lines (the Hold order column indicates this with the panel value L). Use the selection field at the bottom of the panel to narrow down your selection.
- You access Work with held sales orders, Held reasons, displaying the following information:
- Reason
- Indicates why the order line is being held.
- Det
- If this column is set to YES it means that the record has detailed held order line information. If you want to access this information use the Details option. You can then release the attached order line(s) from there.
- Category
- The associated category code.
- Hld date
- The date that the order line was held.
- Rel date
- This field is blank, but will be updated with the date when the order line was released.
- You access Release reasons. Click OK to confirm the release then exit the routine.
Click Reasons.
Tip: Toggle All reasons/Held reasons to view all lines which have previously been released and only those being held at the moment.
If detailed information exists for the order line, click Details to access the Held details panel. From this panel, toggle All lines/Held details to view all connected lines.
For the purpose of this task, select the reason code(s), one at a time or all at once, and click Release.
