Settings are system objects that impact the running of the site. All available settings are preloaded with values on Application level. All user-related settings can be overridden on User group/User level. See NetStore Preloaded Settings in the Technical references accessible on the Iptor Intranet, for a list of all settings, what they do and whether or not they are User-related (meaning they can be overridden on User group/User level).
The following is described here:
You can change any of the values or delete a setting. The following rules apply when deleting settings:
- Even though it is possible, a deletion on Application level is not recommended. If you still choose to do so and the setting you plan to delete is user-related, it will still be available for selection in the drop-down list on User level.
- If you delete a setting on Application level that is not user-related, but you want to utilise that setting in the future, then you can always preload that setting again from NetStore Administration. By selecting the preload mode of “Add, ignore if already exists” for the Web settings, you will be ensured that no previously configured/modified settings will be overridden.
Note: It is also possible to add new setting types. However, to be able to make use of them, some programming is required.
