The time reporting journal has to be attested before time calculation can be performed for a day. Attesting also has to be done for the day balances before they are transferred to the payroll system. A person with authority to check, attest and confirm the time reporting and calculation process performs attesting. An attestor can have the authority to a certain group of employees or to all employees.
You use this routine when you want to:
- Attest reported time for an employee
- Change errors in a time reporting journal
- Calculate time for an employee
See About calculating time for more information. - Work with manufacturing transactions
Reported time with time codes
The employees might have used time codes when clocking in or out. The attesting responsible can make changes to the original values, e.g. if the employee has made a mistake. Time codes can be used in the time reporting routine in conjunction with the following actions:
- Clock in
- Clock out
- Absence
This action is used to report absence for a whole day and a time code for absence is mandatory. - Change wage type
- Personal TR journal
The time code can be changed afterwards in the personal TR journal enquiry if the day has not been processed in the time calculation.
In time reporting the use of codes for absence and overtime is controlled by two parameters:
- Absence code control
- Presence code control
The parameters are defined as system values valid for the whole company or per employee. If no value is specified for an employee the company default values are used.
Time codes can also be used for any IN and OUT clocking transaction in the attesting routine. The use of time codes in the attesting routine is not controlled by the parameters.
For more information about time codes, see the DC1 Time Appendix and About working with time reporting.
