Reporting chemical substances to the European chemical agency

Related topics

The European Union regulation for the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) requires that anyone that purchases/produces an item containing a chemical substance inside the EU or imports a chemical substance into the EU above one tonne per year will need to register it with the REACH central authority (the European Chemicals Agency). The obligations for manufacturers and importers of a substance are essentially the same.

DC1 provides the functionality for tracking and reporting this information. The REACH functionality is available in the DC1 Dangerous Goods Handling application, if the REACH function is activated in the Function control file. All necessary information is defined in or connected to a CAS number. At any time you can print a control report allowing you to check if substances are approaching the registration limit. When the required quantity in kilograms/year (i.e. the quantity allowed to be purchased/produced without declaring) has been reached or exceeded, you print the declaration report and submit it to the Chemical Agency.
