Restrictions may be in place on the sale of either certain items, or to certain customers. The reasons for these restrictions might be due to, for example:
- the sensitive nature of goods (e.g. weapons, chemicals) trade embargoes
- sanctions against a particular country or region
- the banning of a certain item being sold in a particular region
- the customer has exceeded the allowed credit limit
- the price of an item is too low or too high – hence affecting the profit limits
The severity of the restriction can vary; all dependent on how the system was set up. It controls how you are allowed to proceed with the order/quotation processing. See Work with restricted sales.
