If items are rejected at DIS quality control note confirmation, one or more non-conformity certificates (NCC) are created to describe the rejection reasons. NCC’s are also created when moving items from normal stock to non-conforming stock.
NCC maintenance
The NCC can later be maintained if you want to change information such as non-conformity reason codes or non-conformity measured values for conformity criteria. This can only be done if no activity has occurred with the item on the NCC (i.e. inventory movements, inventory transactions, returns to supplier).
NCC cost
You can also change the cost price for an NCC if you want to reduce the stock value of the non-conforming goods. Note: If the NCC is connected to a SCS- or Logistic SCS inventory contract, the cost price cannot be changed. There is no cost of NCC goods if they are connected to those types of inventory contracts. Hence, the NCC goods are treated as zero cost on the stock valuation report.
Stock movements
In the stock movements routine, there is a special function for moving non-conforming stock where you can perform three different kinds of movement:
- Normal stock to non-conforming stock
- Non-conforming stock to another stock category
- Non-conforming stock to normal stock
For information about how to work with non-conforming end products of a manufacturing order, see About NCC reporting for end products of manufacturing orders.
