VAT exch rate table maintenance (GBFD1011)

Note:

This table is an extension to the Exchange rate table. In this table you define the currency exchange rates that should be allowed/valid for VAT reporting and which are different from the system exchange rates. Such exchange rates could be, e.g. customs and excise rates. You can print the contents in this table from the Table program printout selection program.

This panel displays the currencies for which different VAT exchange rates have been defined. When the system generates VAT currency adjustments this table is searched first, then if the currency is not available, the VAT exchange rate is retrieved from the Exchange rate table.

The posting for the VAT adjustments is retrieved – adjusted amount will be posted under pseudo account attached to main account and if there is no Pseudo account then same amount will be posted against the default account XERROR-9999.

The VAT exchange rate will be recalculated and adjustment posted if required – G/L update transactions and balances.

Selection fields

The selection fields on this panel can be used separately or in combination with each other. If several fields exist on your panel, then the first field is always a positioning field.

The following selection types exist in tables, enquiries and files:

  • Positioning
Used to display the sequential list, starting with the character or value that you have entered.

If only one positioning field exists on your panel, then it can be used in two ways. If you enter part of the value/code, the field will function as a positioning field. If you enter a complete value/code, the field will function as a direct access to that record.

Note: 'Work with' programs never give you a direct access.

  • Exact match
Used to narrow down the number of records in a list. Only records that are equal to the value you have entered will be displayed.

  • Search
Used to find a specific record in a list. Enter a search argument consisting of one or several characters. All records that hold the search argument that you have entered will be displayed.

Note: This selection type is primarily used for description-related fields (free text fields combining upper and lower case letters).

VAT exch rate table maintenance (GBFD1013)

On this panel you define the levels of exchange rates that should be valid for a specific currency and time period when reporting VAT. You can specify three different exchange rate levels; the highest, the medium one and the lowest level that should be allowed.

Currency
Enter the currency for which you want to enter VAT exchange rates. For existing records, this field cannot be changed.
Time level
Enter a code for either DAY, WEEK, MONTH or YEAR from Work with languages indicating for how long the exchange rate should be valid. For existing records, this field cannot be changed.
Time
Enter the time value (a date, a week number, a month or a year) that applies for the entered Time level. For existing records, this field cannot be changed.
High
Enter the highest level of exchange rate that should be allowed for this currency and time period. You can specify three levels of which this should be the highest. No check is made by the system, so the three rates can be the same, if you do not want to use different rate levels for the same time period, and you may also enter only one.
Medium
Enter the medium level of exchange rate that should be allowed for this currency and time period. You can specify three levels of which this should be the medium one. No check is made by the system, so the three rates can be the same, if you do not want to use different rate levels for the same time period, and you may also enter only one.
Low
Enter the lowest level of exchange rate that should be allowed for this currency and time period. You can specify three levels of which this should be the lowest. No check is made by the system, so the three rates can be the same, if you do not want to use different rate levels for the same time period, and you may also enter only one.
