On this panel you define the printout parameters.
- Lead text length
- Enter the length of the lead text, to apply to each field, for this printout. Valid length is from 0 to 20 positions.
- Number of columns
- Enter the number of columns allowed for the printout. Valid entries are 1 to 6.
- Characters per inch
- Enter the number of characters per inch that should be used for the list. Valid codes are 10 or 15. Remember that 15 allows more columns but is not accepted by all printers.
- Page orientation
- Enter the code to determine the page orientation for the printout.
- Page length
- Enter the number of lines allowed per page.
- Truncate fields
- Indicate if printed data should be compressed. The truncate function is used if the data entered extends beyond the allocated space of the field.
- New line
- Indicate if new data should be presented on a new line. If Truncate fields is set to NO, this field must be set to YES. If you set this field to YES and the data for the field is longer than the allocated space for the field, the data is printed on a separate line. If you set this field to NO and the data for the field is longer than the allocated space for the field, the data is printed using the column, or printed on the next line with the next field.
- New page
- Indicate if the list should start on a new page for each new record.
- Print option heading
- Indicate if the panel heading for the option should be included on the printout. See the Template field below.
- Print serial numbers
- Indicate if serial numbers are to be printed.
- Language
- Enter the language code indicating in what language the lead text of each field should be printed. This code must exist in the Language table. If the translation for the lead text in the specified language cannot be found, the lead text defined for the system language in the PRTF translation file (ASGD3111) is used. This possibility allows you to easily and flexibly translate the printout lead texts into the language of your choice.
- Template
- Enter a valid template, indicating the information that is to be included on the printout. Only those templates which are defined for printout in the Work with templates routine can be entered. This option entry allows you to design the printout by deciding the information, from the various panels, to be printed.
- Page heading
- Enter the page heading to be valid for this printout. The normal page heading will be overridden with this heading.
- Item outlook
- Only displayed if the Item classification (CLA-Item) function is activated in the Function control file. Mandatory entry and SECURE controlled. Defaults with the item outlook code (if any) defined for your user profile in Work with DC1 user profiles.
- Printer queue
- If this is the first printout of the day, then the system will default the output queue defined in your iSeries user profile. If it is not, then the ID of the printer that was previously used will be defaulted. The value in this field may be changed. Another printer may be selected.
- Number of copies
- Indicate how many printouts you require.
- Hold on spool file
- The default is NO. This means that a printout will be generated as soon as the printer is available. If set to YES, then the printout will be held in the output queue. To release these holds, use either of the Work with jobs and Display printer output icons from the menu bar.
Click OK when you have completed all the information.
