Work with object naming (ASTD10201)

Note: This panel may be displayed in either Maintenance or Enquiry mode. In Enquiry mode, you are only able to view the information and only certain options are available. The panel heading differs accordingly.

In this program you define to which application objects belong. The relationship is defined with the object name (or part of name). This panel displays the objects that have already been defined.

More information can be made available on the panel via the DC1 UI Client Edit columns feature. This feature also allows you to customize the panel to only show the information you want.

Object
This column lists the objects that have been defined.
Obj typ
This column lists the object types.
Subset
This column lists the subsets to which the objects belong.

Description
Displays a description of the record.

App
This column lists the application codes to which the objects belong.

Work with object naming (ASTD10204)

Note: This panel can be accessed in either Maintenance or Enquiry mode. In Enquiry mode, you are only able to view the information. The panel heading differs accordingly.

If you accessed this panel via the Display option, then you will only be able to view the information. To create or update a record, return to the previous panel and select either the Add or Change option (if available).

On this panel you define or change to which application an object belongs. The relationship is defined with the object name (or part of name).

Function keys

Object
Enter a unique code that will identify the new record you are creating.
Obj type
Enter the applicable object type from the OS/400 which gives you the possibility to differentiate between object types with the same object name belonging to different applications.
Subset
Enter the subset to which the object should belong.

Note: When adding new records to subset-handled system files, the system defaults the applicable subset from the Release definition table, for the company that you have signed on to. To create or update records belonging to subsets that are secured in Work with subsets, you must sign on as a user with the same authority as the System Administrator.

App
Enter the code for the application the object belongs to. The application code must exist in the Application definition table.
Description
Enter the text for the object.
Identity
If the identity is defined as a mandatory entry for the subset in Work with subsets, then you must complete this field. The validation rules, if any, are also defined in Work with subsets.
PTF/Mod number
Change date
Indicates the date that the record was last changed. If you add a new record, then this field will not contain a value.

Work with object naming, Copy (ASTD10205)

This panel displays all the records that you selected to copy. Click OK to copy. Click Back to cancel.

Object
Displays the object(s) you selected to copy.

New object
Enter the new object that you are defining.
New obj type
Enter the object type to which the new object should belong.
New subset
Enter the subset to which the new object should belong.

Work with object naming, Deletion (ASTD10208)

This panel displays all the records that you selected to delete. Click OK to delete. Click Back to cancel.

Work with object naming, More selections (ASTD10211)

Note: This panel can be accessed in either Maintenance or Enquiry mode. In Enquiry mode, you are only able to view the information. The panel heading differs accordingly.

From this panel you can perform an advanced search through all the records. The results can be narrowed down by entering a combination of values in one, or more, fields. From the results, you can then select the records that you want to work with.

On this panel you specify to which subset(s) the selected object(s) should be promoted.

Object
Displays the name(s) of the object(s) you selected to be promoted to another subset.
Subset
Displays the subset to which each selected object belongs.
New subset
Enter the new subset to which each selected object is to be promoted.
