The entries in this program are used for automatic numbering of documents. You connect the document number series with the document types in the Document type table.
When you set up a number series, it is important that the space between the first and last number to use is large enough, so that the table does not turn over and start from the beginning. You can have series with up to twelve digits.

- Year
- Series
- Period
- If Series type 3 (for monthly) is entered, you can optionally enter the period.
- Description
- Series type
- The series type controls whether the number series should be yearly (1) or continuous (2) or monthly (3). If the number series is continuous, the Year field shall be left blank. If the number series is monthly, the Period field can, optionally, be completed.
- Handling code
- Enter 1 for an automatic number series, i.e. the number after last used is proposed as next number to use. Enter 2 if the numbering shall be handled manually. The system will then only control that the number is within the valid range, and that the number is unique, if duplicate control is used.
- Duplicate control
- Set this field to YES if you want the number series to be controlled for duplicate numbers. Note: This field only works for FIN transaction entry and not for DIS transactions.
- Last number used
- Enter the number in the series which has been used last. This can be one unit lower than the first number, (so that the first number in a series can be used), but not higher than the last number to use. The actual last number used is displayed for an existing number series.
Note: If a proposed number is not used, but another number is entered manually, then the last number used in the series is not updated in the Number series file. If the manually entered number should be used when the system proposes a new number in the future, then the number series concerned must be updated manually.
Note: If the number entered in this field already exists for any DIS related documents then there is a possibility of creating duplicate document numbers. Awareness of this possibility is needed during a manual update of this number.
