Demand variation list printout/Update (INVD3401)

Related topics

This program gives the ability to detect abnormal demand for item/warehouse combinations in this selection. You can print a report containing all items that show an abnormal demand in any historical forecast period, as long as the forecast period exists in the active Forecast file.

In addition, if the Auto adjust demand field in the IC control file is set to NO, you can also update the Demand adjustment field in the Forecast file so that abnormal demand values do not affect forecast. The Auto adjust demand field is shown in the header of this panel.

Auto adjust demand
Indicates if demand should be automatically adjusted by the system as defined in the IC control file. If NO, then you can manually adjust the demand through this program.
Adjust percentage (%)
If Auto adjust demand is YES, then the percentage value defined in the IC control file is displayed here. When the demand in a certain forecast period deviates from the corresponding forecast by a percentage greater than the percentage in this field, the system automatically adjusts the demand value used in calculating the forecast information for the next period.

On this panel, you define the criteria for evaluating demand for this selection.

Deviation definition

In the fields below, define the parameters for detecting demand deviation for the items in this selection.

Demand deviation %
Enter a percentage. If the demand (excluding any demand adjustment) for a specific item/warehouse combination in this selection has deviated from the period forecast by a percentage greater than or less than the percentage in this field, the system includes the item/warehouse combination in this selection.
Forecast period
This field initially displays the previous forecast period. You can change this to any historical period that exists in the active Forecast file. Demand deviation for items in this selection are evaluated for the forecast period in this field.
Update demand adj
Set to YES if you want to perform a demand adjustment in the Forecast file for the item/warehouse combinations in this selection. If Auto adjust demand in the header is NO, then you can update the Demand adjustment field in the Forecast file for those items that show abnormal demand. Demand will be adjusted for period in the Forecast period field, and will effect forecast for the following period. If Auto adjust demand in the header is YES, then this field is protected.

Note: If you choose to update demand adjustment via this function, any existing values in the Demand adjustment field in the Forecast file will be overridden for those item/warehouse combinations in this selection.

Update in work file
Indicate if you want to print the analysis report and update the calculated values to an (interim) work file before the new calculated demand adjustment values for the item/warehouse combinations are updated in the system. NO is defaulted. Set to YES to be able to change the details of the values in the Work with demand variation routine before they are updated in the Item/Warehouse file.
Demand variation ID
