This panel displays information for the service objects that have been set up in your system. You can add, change or delete entries in this file. A printout of the contents in the file can be obtained from the Print service object file program. The Service objects file is automatically updated when object item(s) are received into the warehouse or sold to the customer. Objects can also be added manually to the file.

Selection fields
- Item
- Displays the item code for the service object.
- Serial number
- Displays the serial number that identifies the service object.
- Customer
- This column displays the customer number for the service object.
- Name
- This column displays the name of the customer.
- Internal name
- This column displays the customer’s internal name.
- Location
- This column displays the location number to which the service object will be connected in the Service location file.
- Dispatch date
- This column displays the date when the service object was dispatched.
- Measurement type 1
- This column displays the measurement type 1 that is assigned to the item in the Item file.
- Description 1
- This column displays the description of the measurement type 1.
- Reading 1
- This column displays the reading 1 for the service object.
- Measurement type 2
- This column displays the measurement type 2 that is assigned to the item in the Item file.
- Description 2
- This column displays the description of the measurement type 2.
- Reading 2
- This column displays the reading 2 for the service object.
- Measurement type 3
- This column displays the measurement type 3 that is assigned to the item in the Item file.
- Description 3
- This column displays the description of the measurement type 3.
- Reading 3
- This column displays the reading 3 for the service object.
- Measurement type 4
- This column displays the measurement type 4 that is assigned to the item in the Item file.
- Description 4
- This column displays the description of the measurement type 4.
- Reading 4
- This column displays the reading 4 for the service object.
- Work centre
- Only applicable if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. This column displays a work centre from the Work centre file denoting to which work centre the service object should be connected.
- Tool
- Only applicable if the DC1 Tools and fixtures functionality is activated in Work with companies. This column displays a tool from the Tool/fixtures file denoting to which tool the service object should be connected.
- Service type calibration
- Only applicable if the DC1 Tools and fixtures functionality is activated in Work with companies. This column displays a code from the Preventive service type table, denoting the service type to be used for the creation of preventive service orders when the tool has reached the calibration point.

On this panel you can add or maintain basic service object information.

Service locations | Access the Service location maintenance panel where you can maintain service locations for a service object. |

- Item
- Enter a code from the Item file.
- Serial number
- Enter a serial number to identify the item.
- Customer
- Enter a customer number from the Business partner/Customer file, to which this object belongs. Note: When the customer is updated the first time to the object and an agreement exists for the customer, the object is assigned to the agreement. If the service object is connected to a work centre or a tool, the customer must be an internal customer.
- Location
- Enter the location number to which the object will be connected in the Service location file. A location number can be specified to connect several objects to one location.
- Dispatch date
- Enter the date when the service object was dispatched. The dispatch date will be automatically generated in the system if the object is invoiced through DC1 standard sales order processing. If the object was sold otherwise, the dispatch date must be manually updated.
- Measurement type
- Displays the measurement types that are assigned to the item in the Item file.
- Description
- Displays the description of the measurement type.
- Reading
- Displays the reading(s) for the object, but can be changed. When service orders are closed, the user may define values for each of the measurement types defined for the object. For example, if you want to measure copies you can create a measurement type called Copies and when a service order is closed, the handler has to enter the measurement readings for the copy machine defining how many copies have been taken. The measurements are updated for the object and can be read here.
- User defined alpha
- This field corresponds to the user-defined alphanumerical field whose heading has been defined in the DIS control file.
- User defined numeric
- This field corresponds to the user-defined numeric field whose heading has been defined in the DIS control file.
- Work centre
- This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. Enter a work centre from the Work centre file indicating to which work centre the service object should be connected. See Connect a service object to a work centre for more information.
- Tool
- This field is only displayed if the DC1 Tools and fixtures functionality is activated in Work with companies. Enter a tool from the Tool/fixtures file indicating to which tool the service object should be connected. See Connect a service object to a tool for more information.
- Service type calibr
- This field is only displayed if the DC1 Tools and fixtures functionality is activated in Work with companies. Enter a code from the Preventive service type table, indicating the service type to be used for the creation of preventive service orders when the tool has reached the calibration point. Note: Preventive service information must also be entered for this service type. This field is mandatory for a service object connected to a tool using the calibration function.
