In this file you can maintain control values for DC1 Alert Management. The values control the SMS function that is available from DC1.
Sending alert messages via SMS from DC1
DC1 provides a gateway solution enabling you to send alert messages via SMS. DC1 has signed an agreement with TellusTalk that gives DC1 companies and customers better prices and service. Whether or not you choose to use the gateway service is optional. If you wish you may use another provider with the same concept.
All support concerning this SMS gateway service has to go through TellusTalk. The SMS gateway will receive an email from DC1 and transform it into an SMS message. The SMS message will be sent out from TellusTalk and can be received in any GSM network all over the world.
The user ID and the address used for sending alert messages via SMS from DC1 are defined in the AMT control file. See Set up the SMS function for instructions.
Apart from the values in the control file, the following has to be set up in order for the SMS to function:
- You need an Internet connection.
- You must set up the iSeries SMTP gateway so that it can send outgoing emails. See Set up the SMTP gateway for instructions.
- You need an account with TellusTalk.
