Create parameter limits

The following describes how to add a limitation to a parameter that has already been configured for an event type. Limitations are used to exclude certain records that have been “found” via the various parameters of an event. This is done by comparing values that the parameters have found to a value that you have determined.

You can only add a limitation to an event type that has already had at least one parameter defined. See Create parameters for an event type.

  1. Select the Work with event types menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select the applicable event type and click Parameters.
  3. You access Work with parameters. Select the parameter that you want to create a limitation for and click Limits.
  4. On the Work with limitations panel, click Add.
  5. You access the detail panel. Complete the following fields:
  6. Limit
Enter a numeric value to identify this limitation. The value indicates the order in which the limitation and its configuration will be executed in. You can have several limitations for each parameter that will seek out records to which each complies in the order in which they are configured.
    Compare sign
Indicate how you want the parameter value to be compared. Click the prompt to select from a list of the various comparison values that exist.
    Compare value
Enter a value against which the entry in Compare sign will be subject for comparison.
For example, if you enter a specific order number and select the Greater than compare sign, then the parameter value will be compared with the Order numbers in DC1. All new orders greater than the specific order number you entered will be included when AMT creates alerts.

    Exit the routine.
