Assign receivers to an event

Once an event has been created and configured, you are able to assign receivers to it. The receivers who will be sent messages relating to the occurrences you have stipulated.

Events can be sent to both individual users as well as roles that are used. Roles, i.e. a group of users, are helpful in that you can set up a number of conditions for each event that will apply for the group in terms of receiving messages. For example, if you want a group of people to receive messages that relate to one event, then you create a role. This saves you from having to create the same set of criteria for each user, when there are several users who require notification about the same event. For further details, see Roles used by AMT.

The following describes the process of assigning first a group of users (a role) and thereafter a single user as the receivers of an event.

  1. Select the Work with event types menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select the applicable event type and click Receivers.
  3. You access Work with receivers, Roles in the All view mode. Select the role that you want to assign as receivers and click Activate. This group of people is now assigned as receivers of any messages created by this event.

Note: If you assign an DC1-role, then you will receive a warning message informing you that this has been done. The message is to remind you to select a parameter to Use to find receiver. This is since this role will point directly to a signature code. The same is true for BP-roles (Business partner roles), where the Contact field in the Business partner file is used to find the receiver. For more details, see Assign users to signatures.

  4. You can toggle Users to change the view mode where you can assign a single user as a receiver by clicking Activate.

Users and roles may be de-activated by clicking the Deactivate option.

  5. If you have selected to assign a DC1 or Business partner type role as a receiver, then you access the Work with parameter for role panel. Select the parameter that is to be used to find the receiver and click Change.
  6. On the detail panel, complete the following field:
  7. Parm number for role
Enter the position list number that you want this parameter to be allocated, for this role.
For example, if the parameter is Order number, and the system should search for only order numbers, then this would be the first parameter (enter 1 in this field).
However, in other instances, a particular order line in a specific order might be required for an event. You would, therefore, configure the Order number parameter as 1 and the Order line parameter as 2.

Click OK and exit the routine.
