The following describes what to do if the conversion ended abnormally. The conversion routine automatically keeps track of which files that have been converted which makes it possible to restart the conversion without having to re-convert already successfully converted files.
Caution: Restarting an abnormally interrupted conversion run must be done before any new transactions have been entered into the system.
The system currency conversion routine consists of three different parts.
- Selection panels
- Conversion programs
- Fix programs run after all files have been converted
The problem that made the conversion run end abnormally must be analysed and eliminated before you proceed with this example. Contact your local DC1 representative for assistance.
- Sign on to the same company again by selecting the Change company to work with menu item.
- Follow the instructions in Run the primary currency conversion for suppliers. You will access the same panels as when you started the conversion the first time. The only difference will be that all fields are protected for input.
- Upon clicking OK, the system will send the following message if the conversion ended abnormally while running one of the conversion programs: “Conversion already started for conversion program xxx but did not complete normally“. Depending on your analysis about the problem, enter one of the following options:
Code Description 1 Continue with this program 2 Continue with the next program 3 End the conversion If the program ended abnormally while running the fix programs, then the following message will be sent: “Conversion is finished, only rebuild balances“. The system will run all the fix programs again independent of whether they completed normally before or not.
The fix program Rebuild supplier balances in file SROLMB from open A/P transactions is run by the conversion routine after all files have been completed successfully.
Tip: To check which conversion programs that have been run successfully and where the conversion stopped, click Select conversion programs on the Primary currency conversion – selection panel. The following codes apply:
