The following describes what information you need to take into consideration and which decisions you need to make, as well as the tasks you need to complete before running the system currency conversion.

The System currency conversion procedure consists of the following steps:

    1. System currency conversion planning (described here)
    2. Running the system currency conversion
    3. Post conversion processes

You should read the information of all these steps before proceeding with the actual conversion run.

The following sections apply:

      1. There are decisions that need to be made before the conversion can start. This is in regard to creating parallel files and debit/credit balances within journal voucher. See Decisions to make for the system currency conversion for additional information.
      2. There are routines that may not be active during the conversion run and certain lists that must be printed to aid the reconciliation process. You will find various tables which can be used as a check list showing tasks that need completing. Each application has its own example of instructions. See (System currency conversion) Tasks to be completed in various DC1 applications.

Caution: When planning for the system currency conversion, it is important to take into consideration that no one can be working in the system when the conversion is run and before all post conversion processes have been completed.
