Setting up the quota goods functionality

This functionality requires that the following is set up:

File To do
Function controls Activate the QUOTAGDS (Quota goods) function. When activated, all quota goods related programs and parameters will be visible allowing you to set up the functionality.
Work with DIS control keys Set the Valid flag to YES for the applicable item, customer, warehouse and/or order type related keys.
Work with quota goods Add the required codes and complete the following information on header level:

    Quota goods code
    Description
    Time level
    Enter one of the following: D (Day), M (Month), or W (Week).
    Valid from
    Enter the date from which the quota goods code is valid.
    Valid to
    Optional entry. Enter the date to which the quota goods code is valid. If you leave this field blank, the quota goods code will be valid indefinitely.
    Quota goods keys
    Select up to five keys from the DIS control keys file, choosing from the activated item, customer, warehouse and order type related keys.

Click OK.

Highlight the quota goods code and click the Details option to access the Details panel.

Click the Add option and enter:

  • the applicable values for the quota goods keys
  • the maximum quantity allowed to be sold, per time level on the quota goods header, within the from and to date interval defined on the Details panel.
  • the valid from date denoting the date from which the maximum quota quantity limit is valid. Today’s date is defaulted.
  • the valid to date denoting the date to which the maximum quota quantity limit is valid. If a Valid to date was entered on header level, it will be defaulted here. Leave it as is or change to the applicable date that is not outside of the header’s valid range. If no Valid to date was entered on header level, this field will be blank. Enter the applicable date.

Click OK to update.

Example set-up for Day:
If you set up following:

  • Time level = Day
  • Valid from date on Header level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Header level is left blank
  • Valid from date on Detail level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Detail level = March 2, 2015
  • Max quantity = 5
  • Keys defined = Customer and Item
  • Values for the keys = C100 (for Customer), and I100 (for Item)

This would mean that Customer C100 can buy a total quantity of 5 for Item I100 on March 2nd.

Example set-up for Week:
If you set up following:

  • Time level = Week
  • Valid from date on Header level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Header level is left blank
  • Valid from date on Detail level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Detail level = March 31, 2015
  • Max quantity = 5
  • Keys defined = Customer and Item
  • Values for the keys = C100 (for Customer), and I100 (for Item)

This would mean that Customer C100 can buy a total quantity of 20 for Item I100 during the month of March, but only 5 per week.

Example set-up for Month::
If you set up following:

  • Time level = Month
  • Valid from date on Header level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Header level is left blank
  • Valid from date on Detail level = March 2, 2015
  • Valid to date on Detail level = April 30, 2015
  • Max quantity = 5
  • Keys defined = Customer and Item
  • Values for the keys = C100 (for Customer), and I100 (for Item)

This would mean that Customer C100 can buy a total quantity of 10 for Item I100 during the months of March and April.
