A high volume of file accesses takes place during the basket qualification process. Thus, a mechanism is needed making it possible to reduce the file accesses and increase performance by limiting the combination of keys that can be used to define baskets.
If you want to limit the flexibility of the basket definitions, you can pre-define the basket keys in the DIS control file making them valid for every basket definition you create in the Work with baskets file. The result will be that you will not be able to define any other keys when creating the baskets.
To pre-define fixed basket keys, do as follows:
- Access the DIS control file and navigate to the Pricing policies panel. Complete the following fields under Fixed basket keys.
- Fixed basket keys
- The three key fields are open for maintenance when the Basket processing field on this panel is set to True and as long as no basket has been defined in the system, i.e. no basket definition exists. Press F4 to select the relevant item-related fixed basket keys (from the DIS control keys table) that you want to use for all basket definitions you create.
- Note: If you, at some point, want to change the basket pricing policy in your company from fixed basket pricing keys to full flexibility (i.e. not restricting the key definitions when creating the basket definitions) or vice versa, all basket definitions must first be removed/deleted from the system.
