If you use sales price lists to price your matrix items, the prices can automatically be allocated (copied) to your matrix items either when you create the items from your matrix base item, or from a specific matrix item after the matrix items have been created.
Procedure when you create the items from your matrix base item:
During the process of creating the matrix base item, (i.e. completing all item information that the individual matrix items will inherit), the sales price list information for the matrix base item can be attached to the item. This can be done either via the Work with sales price lists menu item or via Work with items. If a sales price list has been set up and attached to the matrix base item, the price from the sales price list will automatically be allocated (copied) to the matrix items when they are created.
Procedure after the matrix items have been created
This would be applicable for any of the following reasons if you want to use sales price lists to price your matrix items:
- you did not allocate the prices to the individual matrix items during the creation process from your matrix base item
- a new price is in effect
It can be done from a matrix base item and/or from a specific matrix item:
- EITHER via the Work with sales price lists menu item. Highlight the Sales price list and click the Items option. Then highlight the matrix base item or a specific matrix item and click the Details option.
- OR via the Work with items menu item. Select the matrix base item or the specific matrix item and navigate to the Sales prices panel. Highlight the applicable price list and click Prices.
To allocate the price, do as follows:
- On the Sales price per period, Current panel, highlight the applicable pricing record and click the Allocate matrix price option. Alternatively, drill down to the Sales price per period, Details panel via the Change option. Keep or change the price and click the Allocate matrix price function key.
- You access the Allocate matrix sales price panel.
- When a price is to be allocated from a matrix base item, all matrix items that have been created based on the current base item will be displayed. By default, all matrix items will be marked as selected. You can clear the selection and choose only those applicable to receive the allocated price, or keep all selected.
- When a price is to be allocated from a specific matrix item, only those matrix items with the same segment 2 value will be displayed. By default all matrix items with the same segment 2 value will be marked as selected. You can clear the selection and choose only those applicable to receive the allocated price, or keep all selected.
Click the Allocate function key to allocate the price.
