By copying information from existing assets you save time and reduce the amount of work. The copy function transfers acquisition values and replacement values, but does not transfer calculated amounts from existing assets. Once you have performed the transfer, you can modify information for the new asset in Work with assets.
- Select the Work with assets menu item.
- On the main panel, select the asset you want to copy and click Copy.
- You access Work with assets, Copy. Enter information in the following fields:
- New asset no
- Enter the number of the new asset you are creating.
- Seq
- Enter sequence number, if applicable, for the new asset.
- Acc
- Indicate if the acquisition account should be copied from the old asset. NO is defaulted.
Click OK to retrieve the asset information. A new asset has now been created. The transferred information for the new asset can be changed on the subsequent Asset file panels. Note: The active template determines the panels that will be prompted for the new asset once the copying is complete. Click OK and exit the routine.
