The following describes how to view the results of the sales statistics definition. This is done via DC1 Analyser.
You have the option to view the information in Period or Key sorting order and have several ways to view the information when drilling down to detailed levels.
Tip: If an DC1 Analyser session was open while you were creating the sales statistics definition in the iSeries (DC1 DC1 UI Client), perform a change company to refresh the data.
To view the output, do as follows:
- Select the Sales statistics menu item in the Supply Chain Analysis sub-menu, Object categories list or All functions list.
- You access the Sales statistics definitions window. In the Tree view for box, choose one of the following:
- Period to view the time levels in the tree view and subsequently drill down on key level
- Key to view the keys in the tree view and subsequently drill down on time level.
- You access the Definition level window for the selected definition.
or
Select the applicable statistics definition and click Select.
The initial view is one line per highest time level and key combination, displaying the total accumulated values. The columns are those you included in the definition.
Viewing the information
The next step is to decide how you want to view the information in the statistics definition. You have the following two options:
- Drill down to subordinate levels, (by clicking the Drill down icon) which means you will open a new window.
or
- Expand/collapse the tree in the Tree view column by clicking on the + and – signs.
Note: The information that is displayed when drilling down or expanding depends on what you chose to display in the Tree view column.
Example:
- If you ticked the Tree view for Period on the Sales statistics definition window in step 2 above, the result will be the following:
- When expanding the information in the tree view (via the + sign) you will see one record per next time level.
- If you drill down you will receive a new window displaying the next key level.
- If you ticked the Tree view for Key on the Sales statistics definition window in step 2 above, the result will be the following:
- When expanding the information in the tree view (via the +) you will see one record per next key level.
- If you drill down you will receive a new window displaying the next time level.
Understanding the drill down function
To drill down to subordinate levels of information either select Actions/Drill down from the menu bar or click the Drill down icon
If you choose to drill down, the end result is decided by both of the following:
- How you define the settings
AND
- Which line you have selected before drilling down.
Drill down settings
The following setting options are available:
- No automatic expansion: The tree view on the next level down will be displayed in non-expanded mode displaying the sum for the key that you selected before initiating the drill down level. It does not matter which expansion level you are on in the Tree view column before performing the drill down.
Example:
If you have selected the highest Period level (in this definition Year) before you initiate the drill down and the next level in your definition is Handler, for which there are 50 of them, you will see 50 lines (one per handler), after the drill down.
- Expand all, no selection: This is similar to the option above with the difference being that it is important on which expansion level you were on before initiating the drill down. The next window will display all lines expanded down to that level.
Caution: Performance could be slow if there is a large amount of data for the next level view.
Example:
If you did the following before you initiated the drill down: Expanded the Total down to Year and the first selected line is a Year, (and the next level in your definition is Handler (for which there are, e.g., 50 of them)), you will see 50 handler lines. For each handler the display will be expanded displaying each existing year for this definition.
- Expand and restrict to selection: The result will be the same as the above with the difference being the second expansion level will be restricted to the key selected.
Tip: This is ideal if you only want to view information for a specific key (e.g., only want to see the statistics for a specific month within a year, or a handler with a specific supplier/customer group, etc).
