The following describes how to add more fields to the list of those available. You can search among the standard files currently used in DC1 Analyser or download a new logical file from DC1.
Note: This procedure requires extensive knowledge of the logical files in the DC1 database. You need to know from which file you want to retrieve the data and the links (i.e. keys) from the primary file to the secondary file.
Example:
If you want to be able to view the Supplier invoice number in the A/P Transaction browser, you can add this field to the list. You can then add this as a new column in the browser. See Add additional columns to a browser in DC1 Analyser for instructions.
Note: You can also choose to make this column valid when configuring an advanced selection (meaning the supplier invoice number will be valid for selection and sequencing). See Configure an advanced selection in a DC1 Analyser browser for instructions.
The following describes how to add an additional field (i.e. the Supplier invoice number) to the A/P transaction browser.
Do as follows:
- Open the A/P Transaction browser.
- Click Actions/Additional columns from the menu bar.
- You access the Edit additional table columns window. This window displays a list of the files from which data is retrieved in DC1 Analyser. Click the Include/exclude fields from other files….
- You access the Include /exclude fields from other files window. Click Add to add a new field.
- You access the Select additional file window.
- You access the Include / Exclude fields from other files window.
- You return to the Edit additional table columns window.
Select the file from which you want to retrieve data and click Select at the bottom of the window.
Note: If you want to add files that are not currently used within DC1 Analyser, click Download other files to download the definition for the new file from DC1. The definition for this new file will be stored on your local hard-drive. No download will be necessary in the future.
The key fields from the additional file are displayed. You must now link the applicable field(s) from the main file. Select the applicable field(s) and click Connect. Then click Exit.
Scroll down to the bottom of the list to find the fields that have been added. Click Save. You can now, if you want, add an additional column in your browser for this field, and afterwards configure an advanced selection.
