This proactive enquiry provides invaluable information about the selling potential of the profitable items in your company. You can make more informative decisions about your item sales by viewing the turnover of item groups and items. These figures are based on the total gross sales value of all associating items, generated by the customer, during a selected year range.
You may have customers that have bought for a substantial amount for a certain item group (i.e. high gross sales value), but when analysing the items that they have not purchased during the year range, those non-purchased items may contribute more to your companies’ total profit. By identifying your most profitable items that a customer never or seldom buys, you will be better equipped to push those items, thereby increasing your companies’ profit.
Before you use the customer or supplier enquiry routines, make sure that you familiarise yourself with the standard routine for object enquiry described in About working with objects in DC1 Analyser, where you will find full details of the Multimedia functionality. See Getting started in DC1 Analyser for information about creating shortcuts to favourite functions.

- Customer, Item group and Item
Defining summary levels
To create the above mentioned summary levels:
- In DC1, access the Work with summary level definitions menu item.
- Create a summary level for Customer and Item group.
- Map the following keys in the order given:
- Customer
- Item group
- Repeat for summary level Customer, Item group and Item
Click OK to update
Note: The newly created summary levels will receive a “pending creation” status. You must now create the summary levels.
Creating summary levels
To actually create the summary levels:
- In DC1, access the Reorganise summary level definitions menu item.
- Select the above mentioned summary levels.
- Click OK twice to run the job.
You will receive a message when the job has completed. You are now ready to view the data in the Items bought / not bought enquiry.
Viewing Items bought / not bought information
- In DC1 Analyser access the Customer browser.
- Select the applicable customer, right-click the mouse and choose Customer/Show/Items bought / NOT bought.
- You access the Items bought / NOT bought window for the selected customer.
The default view is Items NOT bought. You can toggle the view for any relevant year and customer.
You will also see the Profit code for the item if profit information has been generated for the customer via the Profitability Analysis Tool. This is invaluable information allowing you to analyse your most profitable items that a customer has NOT bought during the year range.
The middle part of the window displays the total gross sales value of items bought for this item group, by this customer during the year range.
To view the total gross sales value, per sold item, enable Items bought view and click the applicable item group.
