When you create the demand plan, you have to define the setup of the plan and the parameters that drive the demand plan detail creation. You must, for example, define what type of demand plan you want to create and what the base of the demand plan should be. The demand plan must also be connected to a hierarchy.
- Select the Work with demand plans (DP) menu item.
- On the initial panel, click Add to create a new demand plan.
- On the Work with demand plan detail panel, complete the following fields:
- Demand plan
- Enter a code that identifies the demand plan.
- Description
- Enter a description of the demand plan.
- Status
- Indicate the status of the demand plan. Valid codes are the following, but since you are creating a new plan, enter 1:
- Responsible
- Defaulted from the handler on user profile for the user who created the plan. Enter a code from the Signature table indicating who is responsible for this demand plan. This signature will always have access to the plan.
- Type
- Indicate the demand plan type. Valid codes are:
- From/to year/period
- Enter the from/to year/period for this demand plan. Field Period type defines if this should be entered in weeks, months or days.
- Period type
- Indicate the period type for the demand plan. Valid codes are: 1 (Week), 2 (Month) and 3 (Day). Note: Period type 3 (Day) is only valid for demand plans of type 2 (Promotion).
- Calculation rule
- Indicates the calculation rule to be used for the demand plan. This code is defaulted to Flexible when the panel is created. Valid codes are:
- Forecasting unit
- Indicate the forecasting unit for the demand plan. Valid codes are:
- Currency
- Enter a code from the Currency table indicating the currency to be used for this demand plan. The defined currency and price list are used for retrieval of standard price for each item. The standard price is used for calculation of the forecast value. This is of interest when the forecasting unit is quantity or weight. The standard price is used for the calculation of a sales value in amount.
This field is only mandatory if Forecasting unit is set to 3 (Sales value) or 4 (Cost value), or if Base is set to 2 (Inventory control demand) or 3 (Inventory control forecast).
- Promotion
- This field is only mandatory if the demand plan is of type 2 (Promotion) and if it is being activated. Enter the new promotion id to be created for this demand plan. The promotion header and details will be created automatically by the system.
Note: Since this field is used to create a new promotion for a demand plan any existing promotions cannot be entered in this field. The Sales promotion table displays all existing promotions.
- Base
- Indicate on what the demand plan should be based when it is created. Valid codes are:
- From/to year/period
- Enter the year and period on which the demand plan is based. Note: If Period type is set to 3 (days), a date must be entered in this field.
- Demand plan/Import
- Enter the demand plan or import ID that should be the base for this demand plan when details are corrected. Note: This field is mandatory if Base is set to 4 (Demand plan) or 6 (Import data).
The following fields are used to specify the basic details for the demand plan header:
Code | Description | |
---|---|---|
1 | Flexible | When the forecast is increased on details level, the total will also be increased. |
2 | Fixed | When demand planning values are increased for one hierarchy key (e.g. item group), values are decreased for the other item groups included in the demand plan. The fixed calculation rule is appropriate to use when the total forecast value must not be changed, only proportioned. |
Code | Description |
---|---|
1 | Stock unit |
2 | Sales unit |
3 | Sales value |
4 | Cost value |
5 | Gross weight |
6 | Net weight |
7 | Gross volume |
8 | Net volume |
The following fields define what the demand plan should be based on:
See the Panel help for information about the remaining fields.
Click OK. Exit the routine.
