These parameters can be used when you plan to build ahead in order to avoid fluctuations in the forecast.

  1. Select the Work with sales and operation plans menu item.
  2. On Work with sales and operation plan, select the sales and operation plan you want to work with and click Details.
  3. You access Work with sales and operation plan, Included XXXXX. (Note: The sub-heading of this panel differs depending on what key value id is connected to the selected sales and operation plan). Select the key value id (Item group/family/sector or Department section) for which you want to define control parameters and click Parameters.
  4. You access Work with sales and operation plan, SOP parameters, displaying the stock level parameters that affect the SOP calculation. If the parameters have already been defined on the SOP header they will be defaulted on this panel. However, you can override the defaulted parameters with specific values for the selected key value id. Complete the following fields:
  5. Inv upper limit
Enter the highest allowed inventory value for this sales and operation plan. A warning will be given if the calculated inventory value is higher than the defined upper limit.
    Inv lower limit
Enter the lowest allowed inventory value for this sales and operation plan. A warning will be given if the calculated inventory value is lower than the defined lower limit.
    Inventory target
Enter the inventory target for this sales and operation plan. During the SOP calculation the inventory value will strive to come as close as possible to the defined inventory target value.
    Inv turnover rate
Enter the inventory turnover rate. If this field is completed, an inventory target value will be calculated automatically for each period. In the calculation of the inventory target, the period sales forecast is adjusted into year figures and divided with the defined turnover rate. During the SOP calculation the inventory value will strive to come as close as possible to the calculated inventory target value.
    Cover time
Enter the number of periods to be included in the cover time. If this field is completed, an inventory target value will be calculated automatically based on the sales forecast for the coming defined number of periods. For example, if this field is set to 2, the sales forecast for the next two coming periods will be used as an inventory target.
    Supply capacity
Enter the supply capacity for one SOP period. This must be entered in the same unit as defined for the SOP in Unit on the SOP header. A warning will be given if the inventory value exceeds this value.
    Lead time target
Enter the lead time target for the SOP key value.
    Service level target
Enter the service level target for the SOP key value.

Click Re-calc supply value to re-calculate the values in the Supply field on the SOP values panel. Exit the routine.
