There are two ways a base supply plan version can be created:
- From the inventory calculation which is described in the instructions below. (See About working with inventory calculations for more information.)
- The first time that the Supply plan calculation job is run. See Calculate the supply plan values for more information
You can create several supply plan versions, but only the base version (*BASE) is active and will affect the creation of purchase suggestions or the MRP. All other supply plan versions are simulations that can be used for testing purposes.
- Select the Start inventory calculations menu item.
- You access Inventory calculations. (Note: You can also access this panel via the Job schedule file. See Job schedule file for more information). Complete the following field:
- Create supply plan
- Set this field to YES to denote that a supply plan should be created based on the inventory calculation.
Click OK. A base supply plan version (*BASE) will be created based on the inventory calculation. This is the only active supply plan version, and this is the version from which data is retrieved when purchase suggestions are created or when the MRP is run. Exit the routine.
