Define attribute value user security set-up for a configurable item

The following describes how to set up security parameters and restrict the user from changing the default attribute values of a configurator item during the sales process.

  1. Select the Work with configurator items menu item.
  2. On the initial panel, select the configurator item for which you want to define attribute value security set-up and click Attribute values.
  3. You access Configurator item maintenance, Attribute values. Select the applicable attribute and click User security set-up.
  4. You access Configurator item maintenance.
  5. This panel is used to enter the security parameters and restrict the user from changing the default attribute values of the configurator item. Note: If no record exists for the selected attribute, then the system displays the above panel automatically. Otherwise, the Configurator item maintenance, Attribute security panel is displayed, where you can add the record(s).

    Complete the following fields:

    User
    Enter the identity of the user.
    I/O
    Enter the code to indicate the user’s access to the attribute as input, output or hidden at product configuration process. Permitted values are:
    Code Description
    1 Change (input/output)
    2 Display (output)
    3 Hide

    Refer to the Panel help for information about the remaining fields.

    Click OK to add the entered user security set-up details for the configurator item. Exit the routine.
