This function can only be used for parent items. Use this function if you want the item description to reflect the attributes that are selected during product configuration. Enter substitution variables (% followed by attribute or formula codes) in the item description of the parent item. The substitution variables will be replaced by the actual attribute or formula values during the product configuration.
- Select the Work with items menu item.
- On the initial panel, select the parent item for which you want to configure the item description and click Change.
- You access Item file maintenance, Basic data. Complete the following field:
- Description
- Enter text to be displayed in the item description. If you want the text to be configurable, enter % followed by attribute or formula codes, e.g., Table %P1 %P2. Note: Formulas must only contain attribute codes and/or constants when used as substitution variables.
Click OK. You access the next panel. Click Update and return to update and return to the initial panel. Exit the routine.
