The transport notes should be printed as soon as the confirmation of the pick list has been completed, and should be sent together with the goods. Every transport note is assigned a unique number by the system.
A transport note is a very important document that may be printed an unlimited number of times. Once a transport note has been created it cannot be updated. You can, however, print the transport note as many times as you want. You may even define the type of information to include in each printout.
All the orders that have been entered into the system with an order type which specifies the generation of transport notes, excluding those specified for direct printing, can be printed. This is defined in Work with sales order types.
Note: The order lines must be at status 40 or higher for transport notes to be printed.
Note: If you are using the Shipment type functionality, then you can specify on the shipment type that transport notes should be automatically printed when a shipment is closed or updated as shipped.
- Select the Work with outbound shipments menu item.
- On the header panel, select the shipment for which you want to print transport notes and click Addresses.
Note: If you click Transp note from the shipment header panel, then you will access the normal Transport note printout program.
- On the Delivery addresses panel, select the address for which you want to print transport notes and click Transport note.
- You access Work with outbound shipments, Print transport notes. Define how the transport note is to be printed in the Specification and Sequence fields and click OK. Verify that the defaulted printer options are correct and click OK again. For detailed field descriptions, see the Panel help.
The transport notes have been printed. Exit the routine.
