Rather than registering sales order lines one by one for items that belong to an item matrix during order line entry, the Item matrix panel, which holds the matrix items, can be accessed.

Add sales order lines for items in an item matrix

There are two ways to access the Item matrix panel from the Work with sales order, Order lines panel.

  1. Enter the full matrix base item code in the Item/Assortment field and click OK.
  2. Enter the first segment of the matrix base item in the Item/Assortment field and click OK.

The Item matrix panel displays each matrix item that belongs to the matrix along with the available quantity. You simply enter the applicable quantities for the items required from this one panel and click OK to register the lines in one go.

Note: If you just want to select/add a line for a matrix item without accessing the Item matrix panel, enter the first segment of the matrix base item in the Item/Assortment field and click the window prompt icon to access the Select item panel and from there select the applicable matrix item.

Change the quantity for an order line that has been created from an item matrix

Click the Matrix option on the Work with sales order, Order lines panel. You access the Item matrix panel where you can change the quantities and/or enter new quantities to create new sales order lines.
