Depending on the order status of the sales order and connecting purchase order, any changes you make will have an impact on both. The tables below describes this impact:
Sales order changes
Action | Purchase order line status | Impact on purchase order |
---|---|---|
Changes to existing line (quantity or dispatch date) | Less than or equal to 20 | Updates purchase order |
Add SO line | Less than or equal to 20 | For BtB purchase order lines with Direct print set to YES:
Creates new purchase order line when you add a new SO line with the same BtB order type. Creates new purchase order when you add a new SO line with a different BtB order type. For Batch printed purchase order lines with status 10: You must run the Create BtB orders routine manually. This also applies when you add new lines to existing BtB sales orders. If a batch printed purchase order has status 20 and you add a new line to the sales order, and then run the Create BtB orders routine, the new order is created instead of the line being added to the corresponding purchase order. |
Add SO line | Greater than 20 | Creates new purchase order |
Delete SO line | Less than or equal to 20
Note: For BtB direct orders, the sales order line cannot be deleted if the corresponding purchase order status is greater than 10. |
Deletes purchase order line |
Back order | Regardless of purchase order status | Reduces quantity on original line |
