Maintain reasons for held sales orders or lines

  1. Select the Work with held sales orders menu item.
  2. You access Work with held sales orders. The following columns are of interest:
    • Column Hld denotes the level at which the order is being held (i.e. panel values indicating Lines or Order).
    • Column RC displays ++ if there are multiple reasons why the order is being held. If this is the case, you will access Work with held sales orders, Held reasons. If only one reason exists for the order, the detail panel will be displayed.

    Select a held order and click Reasons.

  3. You access Work with held sales orders, Held reasons. This panel displays all reasons why the order is being held. Toggle All reasons to view all reasons why the order is being held, including those that have previously been held, but are since released. On this panel you have the following options:
    • Click Add to add a new reason to the held order.
    • Click Change to maintain an existing reason.
    • Click Delete to delete a reason from the held order.
    • Click Details to access detailed order line information for the order.
      Note: This option is only available if the record has detailed held order line information. This is indicated with a checkmark in the Det column.
    • Click Release to release the held order.

    To exemplify, select a reason and click Change.

  4. You access Work with held sales orders, Reasons where you can view the details for the held order. The following fields can be changed:
  5. Release handler
    Enter the credit handler to be assigned when the order is released.
    Release grace days
    This field is only displayed for reason code 20 (overdue invoices). Enter the number of grace days. When you enter grace days for an order with this code, after it is released, it will not be re-evaluated during the credit control process until after the grace days have elapsed.

    Click OK. Exit the routine.
