Give FOC items as discount and its effect on any re-pricing

You can set up pricing with quantity or amount limits and give FOC items as discount. When pricing is done for the sales order which has FOC limits defined, then it creates dependent FOC lines based upon the limit set-up. If you manually adjust the quantity of a dependent FOC line then base line is set as manually priced (Price code = 180) and pricing will be done as per the new information entered. When you delete the base line then the connected FOC lines are also deleted, but if any of the dependent FOC lines are pick confirmed, deletion is not allowed.

To ignore the manual adjustment of the pricing information and do the pricing as per the set-up in the system, Re-price is used. It clears the manually adjusted price or discounts and does the pricing as per the set-up processed by the sales pricing program and also affects the base line and its dependent FOC lines.

A re-price of a base line may result in the following changes to the connected FOC lines:

  • Current dependent FOC item lines remain the same (e.g., if set up and reached limits are still the same).
  • Removes the current dependent FOC item lines (e.g., if limits are no longer met).
  • Adjust the quantity of current dependent FOC item lines or add new current dependent FOC item lines (e.g., if set-up has been changed to give more FOC items for the same limit).

Re-price of a base line is not allowed if any of the current dependent FOC item lines connected to the base line are pick confirmed.

For example: If a quantity limit is set as follows: For every 50 units of Item A, one FOC item B is given, and for every 100 units of Item A, one FOC item C is given.

When you create a sales order for Item A with quantity of 50 units, then upon pricing, one FOC item is created as a dependent line (Item B). If you manually adjust the quantity of FOC items, then base line is set as manually priced and the initial pricing set-up becomes ineffective. Now if you re-price the base line then again, initial becomes effective, i.e. for every 50 units sold, one item B is given as FOC.
